There are boats that leave around every 20 minutes throughout the day from Iseo, Sale Marasino, Sulzano and Taverna Bergamasca which reach the island’s four main ports. The shortest route is the one that leaves from Sulzano, where not only scheduled boats sail to the island, but there are also boats for guided tours and trips to discover Lake Iseo and the three islands: Monte Isola, San Paolo and Loreto. On the island only doctors, priests and police are permitted to travel by car. If you need to get around you can call a taxi or make use of the bus service that reaches all parts of the island. If you were to stumble across a beautiful sunny day we would recommend hiring a bicycle or a tandem, with which you can easily visit the island in an hour. Bike hire can be found in Carzano.
Additionally, the main road offers may green areas for stopovers and picnics where you can stop to rest and why not even go swimming in the lake; the water is incredibly clean. If however you love a good walk, a tour around the island can easily be done in around two and a half hours. Follow the lake shores in the tranquillity that only Monte Isola can provide, it will treat you to moments of relaxation to share with those you love.
